Health Needs a Hero is a powerful and inspirational documentary detailing with the epidemic of our childhood health issues, told through the hearts of children and key stakeholders. The film’s objective is to bring together thought leaders, policy makers, philanthropists, health advocates, corporate champions and citizens who have the authority to make a difference and open conversations about restoring America’s health – especially our children’s lives – to a state of overall wellness, vitality and happiness. When it comes to our children’s health, who is the hero?
The film is airing on the Documentary Channel with its world television premiere on August 5th, 2012 at 8pm.

The Governor’s Committee on People with Disabilities’ 2012 Barbara Jordan Media Awards was hosted by Texas State University School of Journalism and Mass Communication, the Office of Disability Services, and the Office of Multicultural Affairs. The Awards ceremony was held at the LBJ Student Center on campus in San Marcos on Saturday, April 28.
